Overall Impact
The eye camp successfully provided essential eye screening services to hundreds of senior citizens in remote communities of Dhading District. Many elderly patients who had limited access to eye care services benefited from professional screening and medical consultation. Patients diagnosed with cataract-related vision problems were referred for further treatment and cataract operations.
The camp demonstrated strong collaboration among Rotary Clubs and volunteers committed to humanitarian service and community health improvement.
Observation and Appreciation
District Governor Binod Koirala had set a target of reaching 2,000 eye patients during Rotary Year 2025–26 across Nepal and Bhutan. Remarkably, the President Action Group alone successfully reached more than 1,300 patients within a single district through this coordinated effort.
This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and service spirit of all participating clubs, volunteers, health workers, and supporters. The joint initiative serves as an inspiring example of Rotary’s commitment to community welfare and health service delivery.
Conclusion
The Free Eye Screening Test and Cataract Operation Camp was a highly successful community health initiative that significantly contributed to improving eye health among senior citizens in Dhading District. The collaborative efforts of the participating Rotary and Rotaract Clubs played a vital role in achieving the program’s objectives and extending compassionate service to the community.
