Project Description
Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown implemented a humanitarian rehabilitation support initiative for a 20-year-old differently abled youth who was unable to stand independently. The club invited rehabilitation specialist Dr. Qamar Zaheer from Delhi, India, to conduct a physical assessment, take precise body measurements, and supervise the preparation of a customized supportive brace and orthopedic shoes extending from waist to toes.
The project aimed to improve the beneficiary’s mobility, confidence, and quality of life by helping him stand upright and gradually practice walking with support. The fitting and guidance session was conducted in Biratnagar in the presence of club members, medical supporters, and rehabilitation representatives.
The direct beneficiary was one differently abled youth, while indirect beneficiaries included his family members and caregivers who gained hope, emotional support, and rehabilitation guidance through the project.
